The Beginning

We purchased Jess straight from her Trainer
back in March 2010 for my daughter to have as her Trail Riding/ P.C
horse. When I first saw her in the paddock she looked very sad, she was
way undercondition but I expected that as she wasn't long off the track.
She was a light bay colour with a very rough looking coat. She walked
straight onto the float and stood there quietly eating for the 2 hour
trip home. She settled in very quickly and it wasn't long before she was
into a routine. With washing weekly and rugging 24/7, 4 hard feeds per
day and unlimited hay from a round bale, she started picking up quickly
and soon became a black/brown fat shiny mare with a gorgeous long mane
and tail.
My daughter and Jess bonded and it was love. They worked great together and Jess soon became " Carlys " horse. She was even taught to work off commands being ridden bareback in a halter, she started Jumping and definately loved to gallop. One day she galloped beside the car as I drove behind Carly riding her home from P.C, the car clocked 60kmp and Jess was matching it with every stride.
It wasn't long before Carly and Jess began to clash and the bond was broken. It was in my honest opinion 'Jess" was to be a mans horse. Carly also started getting taller, and with Jess at 14.3hands she decided it was time to move onto a much bigger horse. Carly always had a thing for the large horses at around 17hands.
With this we made the decision to rehome Jess to someone more suitable. It was only a few days when the right person came along to buy her. Jess was sold sight unseen to a lovely home on 100's of acres up Rockhampton way. She is now being ridden by a man that hasn't long been in the saddle, and I hear their bond is unbreakable. Please see New Owners blog on an update with Jess and her new home.
